Terms & Conditions

To be fair to all of our clients, requests to hold knives via email or phone messages cannot be honored. We make every attempt to answer to calls and emails as soon as possible, however we urge that you use our online ordering system and email notification service whenever possible.

We will consider offers on any piece on the site. Offers should NOT include shipping, which is different from the knife’s purchasing price. Please make offers by email or the contact form at the top of the website, rather than via phone, so that we can keep track of them. Please make an offer rather than asking for the “Best Price” on an item. If the item is a consignment, we must submit the offer for approval to the consignor. We are unable to hold the item for you while your offer is being processed. We apologize if the item sells while we await a response to your offer, but that is the way it works. If you truly desire it, the only way to obtain it is to place an order. Please do not make offers after placing your order; this is not permitted and will not be considered. If you have any questions about a product, we ask that you ask them before making an offer.

Addresses for Shipping and Billing

Customers with distinct shipping and billing addresses will be contacted again. The order will be canceled if no communication is made. Please keep in mind that the purpose of this policy is to safeguard our customers from fraud and theft. Please keep in mind that it is YOUR duty to keep us informed of any address changes. If you update your address in your customer dashboard, you MUST STILL tell us by email.

Payment Options

If you want to charge your purchase, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. You can also make a bank transfer or a Western Union wire transfer. For further information about these options, please contact us. If money is not received or you do not inform us, the order will be canceled. Due to a high rate of credit card theft, we require first-time overseas clients to pay via Western Union or Wire Transfer; once the initial transaction is completed in this method, we will take your credit card on subsequent orders.

Shipping

When you check out, the shipping charges are computed automatically. Orders shipped to P.O. Boxes or military addresses must be shipped via USPS.

Orders received before 3:00 p.m. will be sent the same day. All shipments (including Express) orders may take an additional business day to process and ship. If you need guaranteed arrival by a given date, we strongly recommend shipping Postnet.

For foreign clients, please call or email us after placing your purchase to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we send your product. Express International packages with declarations larger than R3000 are subject to an extra R400.00 postage/insurance fee. DUE TO VALUE ADDED TAX (VAT), THE MINIMUM DECLARATION FOR EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES IS R3500

If you ship with Postnet, you will receive an automatic tracking number via email after 5:00pm EST on the day dispatched, if available.

Receiving of Goods

If you do not get your package within 72 hours, please contact us by email or phone.

Return Procedures

If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please contact us within 3 days of receipt for a refund of the knife’s price. Shipping costs are not refundable, and all returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee as well as a credit card processing fee.

The item must be returned in its original condition and transported fully insured via any common carrier. The makers we represent guarantee the majority of bespoke knives, and the majority of factory knives come with the manufacturer’s warranty. We do not guarantee the durability of natural handle materials (such as bone, ivory, wood, pearl, and so on) or any material’s reaction to water and air (rust, oxidation, and so on).

If an item must be returned owing to our error, we may, at our option, issue a complete refund. Any condition seen in our product photographs is deemed disclosed and does not represent an error or omission on our part. Please contact us before returning any items. Every return must be insured. Knives Sold in Good Condition

We make every effort to accurately describe the features and condition of the knives we sell. We are not liable for minor changes in measurements, color, or degree of defect (for example, a faint scrape versus a scratch). We reserve the right to provide a solution for an inadvertent error in description, pricing, or availability.

Selling or Trading Knives

Individual trade offers will be considered. We rarely accept trades on newly posted products. Expect to earn less than the full market value for your knives. If you want to suggest a trade, please email us as much information as possible, including images, about the knives you want to swap.

We will also consider individual purchases, and the prices offered will be determined by the maker. In general, dealers will offer you only 50-60% of the market value of a custom knife, and possibly less on factory knives. We propose bringing your knives to us for consignment since you will receive more money for them.

Appraisals and Other Concerns

Appraisals can be time consuming, and we do not currently provide this service. We also believe that phone or email assessments are frequently erroneous. Even if a knife owner has excellent intentions, it is easy to misrepresent a knife’s condition, value, and other facts.

Due to these circumstances, we are unable to answer inquiries regarding knives in your collection or estimate their value. If you want to sell your knives, please read our Consignment Policies for more details.

Disclaimer

By placing a purchase, the buyer certifies that he or she is of legal drinking age and that the products ordered will be used lawfully. We accept no liability for any damage or injury caused by the sale, trade, use, or handling of any product obtained from us. It is the buyer’s obligation, not the seller’s, to learn about and follow all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws regarding the possession and/or usage of any item acquired. We are unable to give refunds if the shipment you ordered is seized by customs or other government officials. If you are unsure, check your local and state laws before ordering.
